This shirt design was made and sold for John’s Marketplace staple 25th anniversary celebration. Made using Illustrator and mockups made using Photoshop.
Starting Out With an Idea
I wanted to create a product that mixed the current design trends with the past and present of the history of John’s Marketplace as a whole. Something that would fit the modern aesthetic but still appeal to a large audience.
Making that Idea into a Design
Using iconic imagery from John’s Marketplace up until this point in their history, such as their glass silhouette and signage from each of the three locations that have been opened, combined with the concept design we get a sleek retro design. This design balances the colors typically found in 1950s media with the colors of John’s Marketplace history.
From Design to Production
These shirts were then produced for the John’s Marketplace 25th Anniversary celebration and were sold across each 3 of their locations, and still serves as a design theme for the store.
